Things to do and
places to go!
The two beautiful
self-contained cottages are situated on a traditional farm in picturesque
rural Somerset which is a truly beautiful area of the country nestled in
quite rolling hills and agricultural land. However the cottages are
still ideally located between Bath (13 miles), Bristol (9 miles), the
seaside resort of Weston-super-Mare (17), the Cathedral City of Wells (16),
and a stone throw from the Mendip hills. Perfect for quiet breaks, great
rambling, wildlife viewing and of course fly fishing.
With the Mendip Hills only 10 minutes away you are within easy access of
Cheddar Gorge and Wookey Hole Caves.
The surrounding local countryside offers beautiful quiet walks through the
gently undulating land and quaint villages that date back to pre doomsday.
On our farm there is the chance
to watch the milking and other farm activities such as lambing in season.
We also offer guided nature walks around the local area where close
encounters with Roe deer, badgers and foxes can almost be guaranteed.
We even have a newly colonised wild population of Barn owls. There is
however a hand reared barn owl called 'Maisie' who is always a big hit with
children and can be seen at much closer quarters.
There are many small rain fed rivers in the area and smaller stillwaters if
the big lakes seem daunting to the new comer to fishing. But the cream
of the fishing is to be had on the Bristol Reservoirs.
